Appointed assistant, has worked at Poznan University of Technology since 2010. His field of scientific interests includes combustion engines as well as machine design and operation. Mr. Karpiuk has lectured on modern construction of combustion engines, alternative powertrains, ecological aspects of transportation, engine processes simulation and modeling, engine thermal processes and transportation economics. Dr. Karpiuk investigates fuel injection, biofuels, and nature conservation in the view of exhaust emissions.

He was manager in the project: "New generation of common rail pumps" performed in the years 2015 - 2017 (project is financed by The National Centre for Research and Development). He participated in many research projects, both as manager of research team and as main executor. Between 2009 - 2010 he was a president of the Postgraduate Students’ Board at the Faculty of Machines and Transport at Poznan University of Technology. In 2009 and 2010 he was also chairman of Organizing Committee of two editions of International Interdisciplinary Technical Conference of Young Scientists “InterTech”. Dr. Karpiuk is also a member of the Polish Scientific Society of Combustion Engines.
